Cluzion music aims to create spaces for listening audiences to enjoy the best jazz, blues, world, folk, fusion, acoustic and new music that the region has to offer. Cluzion Club began in 2003 in Lancasters Restaurant, Bishops Stortford and has now relocated to the Plough and Fleece, Horningsea, Cambridge, providing two sets of top quality live music and an inclusive meal at each gig. The Plough and Fleece is the perfect venue for the new club - for the past two years the pub has opened its doors to a wide range of community groups and has built a great reputation for good food, buzzy atmosphere and a strong commitment to live music. Cluzion Music has been involved in promoting a wide range of arts events including the Woodworks Festival, Stortford Music Festival and National Trust Woodfest. Cluzion Music works in partnership with Realife Trust, a community development agency and registered charity based in Bishops Stortford and was founded by Shakatak guitar maestro Keith Winter and Tony Phillips, Director of Realife, in 2002. Cluzion Music is the promotions partner of Doghouse, the eastern region musicians collective known for its unique brand of celtic-latin fusion, original songwriting and general musical mayhem.

 Cluzion Club Jazz presents:

TRILATERAL

Saturday 30th January 2010
Trilateral the jazz trio, comprises Tobias Rupp on guitar, Jose Gomez on bass and Mark Laurence on drums. From the group’s inception, they have looked for innovative ways to perform modern jazz repertoire, putting emphasis on material of harmonic sophistication and attempting to continue the best traditions of small group playing, developing a definite group chemistry. The result swings yet is rhythmically fluid, is spontaneous yet empathetic, passionate yet cool.

Tobias Rupp grew up in a musical family. He is a composer, performer and teacher, and holds a Masters degree in jazz guitar. He studied guitar with Ben Monder and Wolfgang Muthspiel in New York, and Dirk Bell and Bernhard Spernfechter in Germany. He has been involved in numerous jazz and fusion projects in Germany and in London where he now lives.

Jose Gomez played in rock and pop settings in Spain before developing an interest in jazz, playing with the White House Community Association Big Band in Hounslow and the band of south London sax player, Dan O’Callaghan.

Mark Laurence started out on trumpet under the tuition of Robin Whitbread, and turned his attention to the drums at around age 16, receiving direction from teacher and composer Pat Brandon and, later, tuition from the great drummer Kenny Clare. Recent associates have included saxophonist Dan O’Callaghan and bassist Eric Rupert.  www.myspace.com/trilateraljazz
